Winter Preview Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team will open up its season with a matchup at Kennedy Dec. 2.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 15-7 season last year, and hope to emulate some of the same success. The team participated in summer and fall leagues and participated in offseason workouts.
“We are relying on senior leadership,” head coach Katelyn McMahon said. “[We are] transforming to a defensive team. You need to be in shape to be a defensive team.”
Some key players this year will be seniors Giulia Giannangeli and Leeda Jewayni, as well as junior Sarafina Arthur-Williams. The team will also look to sophomores Shira Racoosin and Erica Lindsay to contribute.

The WCHS Bulldogs had a very successful season with two division champions, two MCPS team champions, three individual MCPS champions, three regional champions, one individual region champion, one state quarter finalist, one state semi finalist and two state runners up.
