The fourth installment of the John Wick franchise, “John Wick: Chapter 4”, exceeds expectations and delivers an intense and thrilling action film.

The movie continues where the previous film left off, with John Wick (Keanu Reeves) being excommunicated from the Continental and declared “excommunicado” by the High Table. Instead of hiding, Wick decides to take revenge on his enemies and sets out on a mission to do so.

The action in “John Wick: Chapter 4” is expertly choreographed and visually stunning. Wick fights multiple attackers using a variety of weapons, engages in high-speed motorcycle chases, and takes down entire armies of enemies. The fight scenes are intense and creative, making for an exciting viewing experience.

One of the movie’s strengths is its world building. The John Wick universe is fascinating, and “Chapter 4” begins to add depth to mythology. We learn more about the High Table, its members, and the organization’s history, making for a more complex and layered story.

The cast is excellent, with Keanu Reeves delivering an impressive performance as John Wick. His portrayal of the character holds vulnerability, determination, and coolness, making him a likable and relatable hero. The supporting cast, including Winston Scott (Ian McShane), The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), Charon (Lance Reddick), Cain (Donnie Yen), and Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada), also give strong performances, adding new energy to the franchise.

Another exceptional aspect of “John Wick: Chapter 4” is the film’s stunning cinematography. The movie features breathtaking locations and set pieces, including the streets of Tokyo and alleyways of New York City. The film’s use of color and lighting adds to the overall mood of the story, with neon lights and shadowy corners creating a great blend of action and environment.
The movie’s sound design deserves recognition. The sound effects are realistic and immersive, from the gunfire to the sound of bones breaking. The soundtrack also adds to the intensity of the action, with the music elevating the tension of the fight scenes.

While the movie’s focus is primarily on action, “John Wick: Chapter 4” also manages to incorporate some emotional moments. The character’s motivations and relationships are explored in a way that adds depth to the story. Wick’s journey is not only about revenge but also about redemption, as he grapples with his past actions and tries to make things right.

Fans were originally worried that a 4th movie would ruin the trilogy but were indefinitely wrong; “John Wick: Chapter 4” is an excellent addition to the franchise and a must watch for action movie fans. The film’s action, world building, and performances are all top notch, making for an exhilarating experience. The movie leaves the audience eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the John Wick saga.
