NHS inducts new class of bright members

CHS National Honor Society (NHS) inducted the rest of its members for the 2018-2019 school year Thursday, Oct. 4.

The ceremony took place in the CHS auditorium and was led by NHS sponsor and social studies teacher Jamie Frank and the NHS officers. While half the society was inducted last May, a new set of applicants were accepted into the society at the beginning of this school year.

“I thought the ceremony went quite smoothly,” senior and NHS president Emily Feigen said. “ [It was] very classy and gave the students the recognition they deserve without being too over-the-top.”

Though it was Principal Heckert’s first induction ceremony at CHS, she embraced the CHS tradition. The society also looks forward to contributing to CHS this year.

“She seemed very poised and knew what she was doing and was quite communicative towards and appreciative of the students and parents,” Feigen said. “Our theme is ‘for our future’, so we plan on [focusing] on helping children in need, and I think we all really genuinely want to make their world a little bit brighter.”
