SGA PRESIDENT JAMIE OPPENHEIMERI play lacrosse and am a member of B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG).

How well do people know the students leading their class? This year, the Observer decided to get to know the presidents at CHS.

What other activities do you participate in?

What are your goals for this year?

I would like to improve school spirit and donate money to the Save the Children foundation.

What events and activities are you planning for this year?

We are planning CHS’s Got Talent, Mr. CHS, Matchmaker and Carnival.

What is your favorite thing about CHS?

I love homecoming corners because it is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved.

If you could change anything about CHS what would it be?

I would love to get more people involved and motivated to help the school.

    FRESHMAN PRESIDENT ZACH RAIZON

What other leadership positions have you held?

I was president of Cabin John in eighth grade.

Why did you want to be president?

I wanted to lead the school.

What other activities do you participate in?

I do wrestling, lacrosse, Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA), basketball and ceramics.

What are your goals for this year?

I want to raise a lot of money for my class and plan lots of spirit days.

I’d definitely deteriorate the bullying situation.

    SOPHOMORE PRESIDENT HANA QUIROS

What other leadership positions have you held?

I was vice president in eighth grade and ninth grade. I did student council at my old school in Peru.

Why did you want to be president?

I like the stuff SGA does, and I saw it as an opportunity I felt I could do a lot with.

What are your goals for this year?

I want to beat the seniors in homecoming corners. We are doing a Battle of the Bands and will be in the carnival. Hopefully we will have some class bonding activities too.

What is your favorite thing about CHS?

The people and the diverse community. There are lots of different people to meet and talk to.

I would somehow increase school and class spirit. I would make the school bond and come together more.

I’m really active in the music department at CHS. I play bass in the orchestra and jazz bands as well as in Blast.

Definitely a huge goal is to raise funds. Each officer of our class has a lot of great ideas, but we need money to make them happen. We want to re-invoke a sense of community within our class.
