Equestrian team places at show

The Equestrian’s varsity team won seventh place, and its JV team won fifth place at the interschool horse show series
Feb. 20.
Senior Lauren Cortellessa, junior Genny Johnson and sophomores Emma Johnson, Catherine Conway, and Katie Lunceford all qualified for the finals this year in their division. The Equestrian team members work with separate trainers to prepare for competitions. According to Johnson, the requirement to show is one lesson per week. However, because the sport requires much commitment, many members train multiple days per week to enhance their performance.
“We have a very young JV team that has managed to really excel, and our varsity team has done great as well,” junior Allison Rosenstock said. “All of us have worked really hard, grown as a team this year, and participation has been phenomenal.”
