Congratulations to Nathan Gertler who committed Dec 15. to New York University for basketball.

Gertler was the only freshman to receive a varsity letter in basketball under Coach Miller’s leadership. He is the only four-year varsity player on CHS and the only player to receive offers at the college level.

“I chose NYU because of the mix of great athletics and great academics,” Gertler said.

Gertler is a member of the English and History Honors Society and an AP Honors Scholar. He plans to attend NYU’s Stern School of Business on a full scholarship in the fall.

“I love New York City and to be able to play for a great basketball program such as NYU while attending one of the top business schools in the country is an opportunity of a lifetime,” Gertler said.

He was also one out of 12 athletes selected to represent the United States in the 2015 European Maccabi Games held in Berlin, Germany, as a member of the 18U Basketball team.

According to Gertler, he is looking forward to the whole college experience.
