CHS Band Performs

The CHS Band featuring the Concert band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony hosted the Fall Concert Oct. 13th.

They played music with a primary feeling of somberness and ended with exhilaration. Songs they played included Procession of the Sorcerers, Adrenaline Engines, Maiden Voyage, Music for a Darkened Theater and The Star Spangled Banner.

“Music and ensemble always bring a unique flavor to the music every concert,” junior and Wind Symphony band player Ian Murren said. “The first piece evokes a feeling of patriotism and passion. The second is more of a solemn and mournful beauty of the survivors after a storm or tsunami. The third piece is rather celebratory for no apparent reason besides being joyful. The final piece is exhilarating and has a different impact each time even though it is minimalistic in rhythm.”
