The boys basketball team has some pretty big shoes to fill this upcoming season in its opening game against Kennedy High School Dec. 4.
“I think we lost something like 97 percent of our scoring and probably the same for our rebounding,” coach Matthew Miller said. “We are likely the youngest and most inexperienced team in 4A.”
Despite losing all-county players Chase Hicks and Elijah Gore, the team still has high goals for this season.
“We are fortunate that senior guard Jake Eskin transferred in from Northwest, and he will help us immediately and likely be one of our leaders,” Miller said.
Several players have been participating in tournaments and summer leagues, but the focus this off season has been on conditioning and strength training.
“This group has been the most committed and hardest working group I have had in my two years at CHS,” Miller said.
