Let’s face it. We all know people who we consider to be jerks. We may have differing opinions on what defines a jerk, but I’m sure that we can all agree that the biggest jerk of all time is the one and only Kanye West.

Kanye has no rules and no limits. Much like a kindergartener robbed of his cookies and milk, Kanye throws temper tantrums without warning. From going ballistic when he does not win awards, to going ballistic when others win awards in categories he is not even involved in, Kanye has done it all.

The pinnacle of all time Kanye jerkness was demonstrated last September when he appeared on stage like an uninvited dinner guest, interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech after she won Best Female Video at MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMAs).

I am sure that you all are aware of this incident, but for those of you who happen to live under a rock, here’s what happened. Kanye took the microphone from Swift and cut her off in her moment of fame, proclaiming that Beyonce really deserved the award.

If you do not believe me when I tell you Kanye is a jerk, maybe you will believe a higher authority. I think we can all agree that when President Obama calls you a “jackass,” you have just received the highest endorsement of jerkness.

Not only has Kanye been told off by presidents, but he has done his fair share of ridiculing presidents on camera as well. During the Hurricane Katrina fiasco, Kanye accused President Bush of “not caring about black people,” creating a storm of gossip for the media. In my book, accusing the president of being racist is way up there in the book of jerkness, but of course the highest levels have only been reached by Kanye himself.

Kanye was most recently scheduled to tour with Lady Gaga later this year. The tour was apparently “mutually canceled,” however two theories suggest otherwise. Theory: A, Lady Gaga canceled because she no longer wanted to be associated with Kanye after the Swift incident, or theory B: Kanye canceled because he believes that Lady Gaga could be a bigger star than he is. Regardless, both theories result from Kanye being a jerk and he is now depriving millions of people of a good tour.

Kanye’s jerkness fully eclipses his musical talent. Although he has great music it is often overlooked because of his “Heartless” stunts and his “Big Ego.”
