Terrell Owens (TO) is a Pro Bowl wide receiver, a reality television star and most importantly, a much bigger jerk than Kanye West.
TO’s outspoken attitude and antics make him by far the biggest jerk in the NFL, and perhaps the biggest jerk we harbor in this beautiful nation of America. TO is one of the most overrated wide receivers in the NFL, and has paid astronomical amounts of money in fines during his 14 seasons of being a jerk.
TO’s ego is not to be contended with. Kanye may boast that he is a lyrical genius spreading Jesus’s word through hip-hop, but TO has his very own TV show purely about his ego and how awesome he is. On The T.O Show he shows off his material possessions, his “fly honeys,” and his generally displeasing attitude every episode. He even has his very own website, terrellowens.com that has nothing to do with football and just shows him endorsing things and posing for photos.
TO’s charity is a perfect example of his crazy ego. The campaign “81 tackles hunger” asks people to donate 81 cents for hungry children. TO has to stick his number and his fame into a good charity, making it seem like nothing but a publicity stunt.
The man even got kicked out of three great football franchises solely because he was a jerk. He makes millions of dollars every year to catch footballs, yet he has been fired three times for his childish antics and for being a terrible human being.
In his arguably most famous interview concerning his behavior, TO answered questions from the media shirtless while doing crunches on his driveway. Personally, I find such an interview method distasteful. Use Allen Iverson for example; when he wants to show his horrible personality, he is fully clothed as he addresses the media. TO doesn’t even take the time to respect proper jerk etiquette and breaks new ground on ways to displease society on a regular basis.
Most people can agree Kanye produces good music, but what’s to show for the millions TO makes? Pissing off my beloved Eagles? Distracting Tony Romo from his bodacious girlfriend? Not living up to the hype in Buffalo? TO’s impact on the average American is as insignificant as my blanket not having armholes.
Honestly, sometimes it feels like TO uses his fame and time in the spotlight to promote himself more than anything else. Maybe he should take a lesson from altruistic celebrities like Bono, who use their fame to support charities and help other people. This would not only help personally turn his image around, but it would actually make a difference to others.
Until that day, it is pretty clear that TO has the upper hand and is superior to Kanye West in their respective horribly jerkish attitudes. Kanye puts up a good fight, but it is clear that TO is the jerk to be reckoned with.
