The MCPS Board of Education put out a memorandum on March 3, stating the revisions for the third and fourth marking periods.

The third marking period will now end on April 12, the week after spring break and the fourth marking period will now end June 17.

We lost a total of 6 work days, including four school days [due to weather],” President of the Board of Education Michael Durso said. “The discussion centered around how that would impact the 3rd quarter, so the decision was to add days to the shortened 3 quarter and start the 4 quarter later.

The distribution of report cards and the date for preparing interims are also affected by the new changes.

“The MCPS administration also discussed this with our teachers association and administrators association before we finalized the schedule,” Durso said.
