Page’s Run returns to CHS October 4

Ever since Kimberly Page Whetsell lost her life to cystic fibrosis on June  2005, her friends and family have gathered every fall to commemorate her life by running or walking 5k. This run benefits the Page’s Memorial Foundation which donates the proceeds from Page’s Run to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and grants several scholarships to college students living with cystic fibrosis.

This year, the run will take place on Oct. fourth at 9 a.m., starting and ending at the front of CHS. Because this is the fifth annual year for Page’s Run, sponsors are expecting a large turnout. This year, Capital Running Company will be conducting race management and finish line services.

“Our main goal of the run is to continue to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis.” race director Steve Bettis said. “The more participants the better.”

Page’s Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization, and the members of the Race Committee are volunteers. Therefore, the Foundation is able to devote the majority of the money it raises to scholarships, and Cystic Fibrosis research.
