Real bros rock a ridiculously good-looking flow

Question: What do the Pacific Ocean, the Hudson River and Zac Efron all have in common? Answer: Tremendous “flow.”

A new hairstyle has been sweeping across the nation as the latest trend for the extremely good looking, but what exactly is it, an uninformed and less good-looking fellow may ask. Flow is the measurement of the fluidity, grace and overall finesse of an individual’s hair.

“My flow means a lot to me,” sophomore Tyler Wooster said. “I’m known for having good flow and it is a part of me.”

Normal flow, commonly known as “side flow,” can be categorized as medium to long length sweeping hair with a slight brush to either the left or the right. Although most CHS “flowbros” rock this type of flow, some have gravitated to other types of good-looking hair.

The “aflow” is an afro or the long, bushy hair shown on people such as Undercover Brother or musician Lenny Kravitz.

According to junior Michael Mainwaring, his aflow is a statement of his individuality while it adds to his overall attractiveness.
Having great flow is not as easy as it may sound. True flow requires time and extensive maintenance, along with frequent “flowchecks” in various reflective surfaces such as car windows and bathroom mirrors. Some students even resort to the buddy system, where two flowbros can check each others flow when all else has failed.

“I keep my hair nice with frequent applications of ‘Pantene Flow-V,’” Wooster said. “Conditioning is not necessary, I keep it natural.”

When asked what is the worst thing that could happen to them, true flowbros would not say failing a test or breaking a bone. Instead, they would respond with the much dreaded, “Flowsectomy,” which is when a flowbro receives a “flowchop” from a highly trained hair stylist. This usually occurs once to twice a year to prevent mangyness or, God forbid, a mullet.

“When I have nice flow going a haircut’s probably the worst thing that could happen to me,” freshman Lars Phillips said. “It completely blocks the flow from getting nice.”

However for some flowbros a flowsectomy is not the worst thing that can happen. In fact, for sophomore Jake Feingersh it is not a concern at all because he is able to rock the “No flow.”

“The [No flow] makes me come off as an individual, and I can body wash my scalp for extra convenience,” Feingersh said.

Lacrosse season is the ultimate time for flowbros to show off their flow to a wide flow-respecting community. However, because some students either shave their head for the season or cannot grow a proper flow, these individuals must acquire the “flowbucket,” or long flowing synthetic hair stemming out of ones’ lacrosse helmet to simulate the appearance of flow.

“I can [still] have the nice flow feeling that makes me [play lacrosse] hard without having to maintain the actual hair,” Feingersh said.
